Add a Modpack to a Minecraft Server

FreshPerf lets you install modpacks directly from the client panel without manually uploading the entire pack.

Important: stop the server before changing modpacks or server software. Major changes can modify or remove files. Back up your world and configuration first.

1. Open your Minecraft server

  1. Sign in to your FreshPerf client area.
  2. Open Services.
  3. Select your Minecraft server.
  4. Make sure the server is Stopped before installation.

2. Open the Modpack catalog

From the server navigation bar:

  1. click Mods & plugins.
  2. stay in Explore.
  3. open Modpacks.

You can now search for modpacks by name.

The catalog includes content from sources such as Modrinth and CurseForge.

3. Search for a modpack

Use the modpack search field.

You can filter results by source:

  • All sources.
  • Modrinth.
  • CurseForge.

Open the modpack you want to install.

4. Choose a compatible version

Before installing, verify that the selected version matches:

  • the Minecraft version you want.
  • the loader required by the pack, such as Forge, NeoForge or Fabric.
  • the amount of RAM available on your plan.

To review the server software available on FreshPerf, open Versions.

FreshPerf offers software such as Vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Purpur, Spigot and other variants.

5. Install the modpack

From the modpack page:

  1. select the version you want.
  2. start the installation.
  3. wait for the process to finish before starting the server.

Large packs can take several minutes to install.

6. Check files and startup settings

After installation, use the Files tab to review the server files.

You can also open:

Management → Settings

to check:

  • the Java version.
  • the server file used at startup.

Only change these values if the modpack specifically requires it.

7. Start the server

Open Console and click Start.

Watch the startup logs for errors.

If the server stops immediately on a fresh installation, make sure the Minecraft EULA has been accepted.

If eula.txt contains:

eula=false

change it to:

eula=true

only if you accept the Minecraft EULA.

8. Monitor server resources

FreshPerf displays graphs for:

  • CPU.
  • memory.
  • network traffic.
  • disk usage.

Large modpacks can require significantly more RAM than a normal Vanilla or Paper server.
